Today, January 23, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 50/mt ($3/mt) in the Marmara region, while rebar spot prices in the Iskenderun and Izmir regions have increased by TRY 100-350/mt ($4-16/mt) compared to Thursday, January 19. In addition, rebar spot prices have remained stable in the Karabuk region in the local currency with minor changes on US dollar basis. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 15,350-15,500/mt or $692-699/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has cut its official rebar price by $20/mt to $710/mt ex-works today. Sources report the workable rebar price in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $690-710/mt ex-works. According to sources, one Izmir-based mill is handling its ongoing order deliveries and is seeking to keep its rebar price firm.
In the Iskenderun region, Koc Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 15,800/mt ($712/mt) ex-works today. Another mill in the same region has not opened its rebar sales today. This situation has contributed to the upward movement in prices in the region amid a lack of supply.
As of today, rebar offers in the Turkish spot market are as follows:
