Today, September 9, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 50-100/mt ($2-5/mt), amid sluggish demand and currency fluctuations in the Iskenderun and Izmir regions, while rebar spot prices have remained stable in the local currency with minor changes on US dollar basis in the Marmara and Karabuk regions. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 14,500-14,800/mt or $674-688/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara and Izmir-based mills have kept their official rebar prices at $700-710/mt ex-works, while the workable rebar prices vary at $690-700/mt ex-works.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy may start its maintenance works from early next week for around 20 days, SteelOrbis has heard.
Most local traders are monitoring the import scrap price trend before restocking and most Turkish mills are expected to revise their official rebar price by early next week.
