Today, August 2, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 100/mt ($5/mt) in the Marmara region, while rising by TRY 100-200/mt ($4-10/mt) in the rest of the country, amid currency fluctuations and relatively livelier trading activity. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 12,900-13,300/mt or $609-628/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are offering rebar at $605-630/mt ex-works today. Kardemir has succeeded in selling around 15,000-25,000/mt of rebar at $610/mt ex-works, which may be considered to be a positive sign.
