Today, February 28, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained stable on lira basis in the Marmara and Karabuk regions, while changing by TRY 50/mt in the Izmir and Iskenderun regions, amid currency fluctuations, with minor changes seen in prices on US dollar basis. However, most buyers are monitoring the import scrap segment before restocking. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 12,400-12,500/mt or $761-767/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has increased its rebar price by $20/mt to $760/mt ex-works, while most producers in the Marmara region are offering rebar at $770-780/mt ex-works. Only $5-10/mt discounts are applicable for serious buyers. One Izmir-based mill is offering rebar at $760/mt ex-works. Moreover, another mill in this region is expected to start its maintenance works tomorrow and to continue them for around seven days.
In the Iskenderun region, one re-roller closed its rebar sales in the afternoon today after opening then earlier at TRY 12,850/mt ($789/mt) ex-warehouse.
