Today, July 20, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 250-400/mt ($15-22/mt) since the beginning of this week amid rapid currency fluctuations and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 14,200-14,350/mt or $684-691/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its official rebar price at $720/mt ex-works today. Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are currently offering rebar at $700-720/mt ex-works. Special discounts are applicable for serious buyers.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy opened its rebar sales at TRY 15,200/mt ($732/mt) ex-works yesterday.
Most local traders are not in a rush to restock material and are monitoring the import scrap price trend.
