Today, August 17, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by another TRY 50-100/mt, mainly down by $2-5/mt on US dollar basis due to very quiet demand amid currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 6,750-6,800/mt or $680-685/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions have kept their rebar prices at $680-$690/mt ex-works today. Some local traders are offering aggressive pricing to generate sales as they believe the local rebar prices may decrease further amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,900/mt ($695/mt) ex-works today, down by TRY 100/mt($5/mt) on the day.
