Today, January 26, spot prices in the local Turkish rebar market have fallen by TRY 20-50/mt, with minor changes on US dollar basis, amid currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 5,260-5,380/mt or $606-620/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its rebar price in local currency at TRY 5,520/mt ($636/mt) ex-works, up by $3/mt today. Most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar at TRY 5,505-5,550/mt ($635-640/mt) ex-works, stable on US dollar basis and down TRY 30/mt today.
Sources report that most Izmir-based mills are offering rebar at TRY 5,375/mt ($620/mt) ex-works.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 5,400/mt ($623/mt) ex-works today.
Most buyers are in wait-and-see mode due to the sharp currency fluctuations and slow trading activity.
