Today, April 14, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by another TRY 200-350/mt ($13-22/mt) due to the pessimistic outlook for the deep sea scrap market and currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 15,100-15,500/mt or $875-898/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its official rebar price at $965/mt ex-works, while the Turkish central bank kept its interest rates stable today. Considering the huge gap between producers’ official rebar prices and local traders’ rebar spot prices, Turkish mills are expected to revise their rebar prices soon.
