Today, February 1, spot prices in the Turkish domestic rebar market have declined by TRY 100-150/mt ($2-9/mt) compared to the end of last week, to offset currency fluctuations and against the backdrop of negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are at TRY 4,950-5,050/mt or $584-596/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 5,200/mt ex-works as today, equal to $614/mt ex-works according to the current exchange rate. Early today the US dollar equivalent was $5/mt higher. Most mills in the Marmara region are currently offering rebar at TRY 5,170-5,210/mt ($610-615/mt) ex-works.
In the Izmir region,sources report not official rebar list price is given and the rebar price is quoted as per the customer’s enquiry.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 5,240/mt ($618/mt) ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 5,200/mt ($614/mt) ex-works.
