Today, September 21, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 20-50/mt ($1-4/mt), amid exchange rate fluctuations and the negative sentiment as regards local demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 6,750-6,800/mt or $661-666/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
The general rebar price range in the Izmir and Marmara regions is currently standing at $660-670/mt ex-works, while some local traders are not in a rush to restock as they are monitoring the raw material segment closely and the Turkish Central Bank’s interest rate decision due on Thursday, September 23.
