Turkish domestic rebar prices have start the week with declines, with price levels for 12 mm rebar down by TRY 10-30/mt or by $3-6/mt compared to Friday, March 27, due to the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment and weak demand, market sources report. As a result, 12 mm rebar prices have opened the week at TRY 2,860-2,950/mt ex-warehouse.
Today, March 30, Turkish mill Icdas has decreased its 12-32 mm rebar price by TRY 20/mt ($4/mt) to TRY 3,000/mt ($392/mt) ex-works. Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) is offering at the same price as Icdas, with its prices down TRY 50/mt on Turkish lira basis and $8/mt on US dollar basis compared to Friday, March 27. Some Marmara-based mills have increased their 12 mm rebar price by TRY 14/mt to TRY 2,987/mt ($390/mt) ex-works, with their dollar prices remaining unchanged.
