Over the past week, Turkish domestic official merchant bar prices have only risen slightly, by TRY 5-15/mt, in the local currency, in order to offset currency fluctuations. After the 7.8 magnitude earthquake which hit southeastern Turkey on Monday morning, most re-rollers have kept their dollar-based prices stable. Sources report discounts, up to $10/mt, are applicable for serious buyers only.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering for February delivery and only limited tonnages are available from stocks.
