Turkish domestic merchant bar prices have mainly decreased by TRY 255-365/mt ($22-27/mt), only increased by TRY 45/mt, while falling by $5/mt in the Karabuk region. Demand is sluggish against the backdrop of the rapid currency fluctuations and the financial uncertainty in the country.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering for September-early October delivery and only limited tonnages are available from stocks. Sources report that official HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) prices are available at $1,000-1,030/mt versus $1,020-1,050/mt ex-works a week ago.
