Turkey’s local and export wire rod prices mostly stable

Wire rod producers in Turkey have mostly kept their local offers stable as import scrap prices have remained firm. Only in the Iskenderun region have prices increased, by $5/mt, supported by the still somewhat limited allocation, SteeOrbis understands. On the export side, most of the offers for December production are coming at $445-455/mt FOB, stable week on week.

Sources report that the demand exists for welded wire mesh in the local market and for steel wire in the export markets, in the European Union (EU) specifically. However, buyers prefer just to cover their daily requirements and not to pile up stocks.

Currently, the local offers for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on the actual weight basis, exclude 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.
