Domestic wire rod prices in Turkey’s Iskenderun and Marmara regions have decreased by $5/mt week on week due to lower import scrap quotations and weak demand. Currently, the prices for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Marmara

Thrace

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

Moreover, Turkey’s wire rod export prices for October shipment are standing at $450-465/mt FOB versus $465-470/mt FOB offered last week. Market players also indicate that, due to weak international finished product demand, some steel wire producers have started to sell nails and some nail producers have started to sell wire products, to cover all buyers’ requirements.
