Domestic wire rod prices in Turkey have moved sideways in all regions except Iskenderun where prices have decreased by $5/mt on the upper end over the past week. Currently, the prices for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Price change ($/mt)

01.10.2019

Marmara

445-450

-

Thrace

445-450

-

Izmir

440-445

-

Iskenderun

440-445

-5 (on the upper end)

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

On the export side, most of Turkey’s wire rod offers for November shipments have remained stable over the past week at $435-440/mt FOB. However, some mills are voicing higher quotations, probably not being in a rush to sell. According to the market sources, last week Turkey sold 16,000 mt of wire rod to Senegal and 8,000 mt to Morocco at $430/mt FOB, both for November shipments.
