Turkey’s Kardemir opens wire rod sales for engineering grade products

Today, May 5, Turkish mill Kardemir has opened its local sales for specific wire rod grades, i.e., for engineering grade products as opposed to low-carbon grade wire rod, as per the list below. The producer has issued its list price only on US dollar basis and for cash payment, on ex-works basis. All wire rod prices have indicated an increase of $50/mt compared to the company’s previous list dated Wednesday, April 7.

The general range in the local Turkish wire rod market for SAE 1008-1010 for sizes 6.5-8 mm was at $730-765/mt ex-works yesterday, while the list prices for 20MnB4 5.5-16 mm were at $875/mt ex-works in Turkey’s Aegean region today. No fresh wire rod sales been heard for now.
