Today, August 11, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir opened its rebar sales.

Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 5,975/mt ($693/mt) ex-works. As usual, the offer is valid for 500 mt and above orders, for cash payment, with a 25 percent initial cash payment and payment deferral for up to 90 days, with an additional 1.5 percent to be paid for each month of deferred payment. The producer has cut its rebar price by TRY 165/mt ($16/mt) compared to its previous rebar list price dated June 24.

The general rebar price range in the country is at $685-710/mt ex-works and the spot rebar price range was at $684-692/mt ex-warehouse yesterday. As a result, it seems somewhat difficult for the producer’s rebar price to gain acceptance in the local market for now.  No new sale has been heard so far.
