Turkey’s Kardemir closes its wire rod sales

Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has closed its domestic wire rod sales, today, October 27, having opened them earlier on the morning of the same day. The company’s rebar and billet sales remained closed. Its previous wire rod price list was dated October 7. Sources report approximately 36,000 mt of wire rod was traded.

Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod in its latest sales was at TRY 4,560/mt ($564/mt) ex-works, while its 6-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade was offered at TRY 4,450/mt ($550/mt) ex-works.

The abovementioned offers were valid for orders for 500 mt and higher, with 25 percent on cash payment basis, with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
