Izmir-based Habas, one of the main rebar suppliers in Turkey, has recently made a slight change in its domestic price policy. Habas’ extras for 10 mm rebar have increased by TRY 10/mt and so its 10 mm rebar prices are now TRY 45/mt higher than the producer’s 12 mm rebar prices. According to market sources, the key reason for the increase is the lack of the smaller sizes in the Aegean region due to ongoing maintenance at one of the Turkish mills. In the meantime, Habas has left its extras for 8 mm rebar unchanged at TRY 65/mt, SteelOrbis understands.
