According to market sources, Turkish billet producers’ export prices have decreased by $10/mt on the lower end week on week and are currently in the range of $450-465/mt FOB. While it is observed that demand for billet exists in the Far East, Turkish mills are competing with CIS-based, Indonesian, Iranian, Indian and Malaysian billet suppliers in this region. It is noteworthy that Iranian billet suppliers in particular are pushing down prices to very low levels with their offers standing at $420/mt FOB.
