Following some improvement of domestic demand for long products in Algeria, Tosyali Algerie, the key local producer, has announced increased offer prices. The supplier’s local prices have increased by $15-16/mt (DZD 2,000/mt) as compared to the late November levels to $491/mt (DZD 64,250/mt) ex-works for rebar and to $506/mt (DZD 72,250/mt) ex-works for wire rod. The products are available for December production.

Algerian Qatari Steel has followed the upward trend, as was expected. The supplier’s rebar is nowadays on offer in the local market at $501/mt (DZD 65,500/mt) ex-works, up $5/mt (DZD 500/mt) from the past week’s price. The offers for wire rod have increased more significantly, by $13/mt (DZD 1,750/mt) to $516/mt (DZD 73,750/mt) ex-works.

The US dollar-denominated prices exclude nine and 19 percent VAT for rebar and wire rod, respectively.
