Algerian steel producer Tosyali Algerie has once again decreased its domestic longs prices for October production, partly due to the ongoing dullness of domestic demand. In particular, domestic construction activities have been subdued for a while now amid political unrest and investment challenges, SteelOrbis understands.

The producer has decreased its domestic prices by $24-27/mt (DZD 3,500/mt) since early September. Currently, Tosyali Algerie is offering rebar at $489/mt (DZD 64,000/mt) ex-works and wire rod at $508/mt (DZD 72,500/mt) ex-works. Another key producer in the country is expected to follow the downturn and to announce new domestic prices closer to the end of the month.

US dollar-denominated prices exclude nine and 19 percent VAT for rebar and wire rod, respectively.

$1 = DZD 120.
