On January 22, SteelOrbis reported that Tokyo Steel had increased the price on rebar due to higher production costs including increases in raw material prices, electricity prices at winter level surcharges, and transportation costs. List prices were reported at JPY 69,000/mt ($621/mt) ex-mill for February shipments.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that Tokyo Steel list prices will remain stable into March at JPY 69,000/mt ($643/mt) ex-mill March shipments. Due to a stronger JPY local currency, rebar prices have increased $22/mt over the past month.
