On December 17, SteelOrbis reported that Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co Ltd, had announced that it would hold steel product prices stable into January 2019 amid global and domestic market factors. Prices for domestic rebar were reportedly at JPY 69,000/mt ($612/mt) ex-mill, while H-shaped beams were reportedly priced at JPY 89,000/mt ($789/mt) ex-mill.

The company announced the same stable pricing in February and now again for March deliveries. Prices for rebar are reportedly at JPY 69,000/mt ($624/mt) ex-mill, while H-shaped beams are reportedly at JPY 89,000/mt ($805/mt) ex-mill. Due to currency fluctuations, rebar increased $12/mt and H-beam increased $16/mt. The last price increase was implemented in February 2018.
