Following the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have mostly moved down with the attribution of the weakness of demand, except in Turkey’s Karabuk region where prices have remained stable. Meanwhile, market players in the local Turkish rebar market are waiting impatiently for the Central Bank of Turkey’s decision on interest rates to be announced on July 25.
Today, July 19, Turkish mill Izmir Demir Celik has decreased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 42/mt to TRY 2,653/mt ($470/mt) ex-works, while Icdas has decreased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 20/mt to TRY 2,680/mt ($475/mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT.
