Turkish merchant bar mills’ export prices have increased by $10/mt during the past two weeks to $510-560/mt FOB, with the export prices for angles in the range of $510-530/mt FOB, both for July shipment.
SteelOrbis has been informed that Turkish suppliers have concluded merchant bar sales particularly to Morocco and Tunisia and also to Egypt and West Africa last week, for maximum tonnages of 200-300 mt at $500-505/mt FOB.
Following the rises recorded in import scrap quotations, Turkish merchant bar profile producers have increased their export offers to $510-530/mt FOB, but the future trend of prices will be shaped by the response of foreign buyers. For now, international buyers’ firm bids for Turkish merchant bar are at $500-505/mt FOB. Additionally, it is heard that Turkish mills are receiving price inquiries from South America.
