Domestic rebar prices in Turkey have continued their sharp upward movement amid the record levels the US dollar saw against the Turkish lira. Despite their low inventories buyers in the local Turkish rebar market prefer to wait and see before concluding new purchases amid the prevailing uncertainty in the market resulting from the high volatility of the exchange rate. Domestic rebar prices in Turkey have increased by TRY 93-110/mt as compared to price levels in SteelOrbis’ report published on August 6.
