Rebar import price declines slightly in Brazil

The last ex-China rebar offer to Brazilian importers was priced at $535/mt, against $538/mt one month ago, CFR conditions in a port in the south or southeast coast of Brazil, referring to the QC/HRB400 grade.

In September, Brazilian imports of rebar were limited to 2,900 mt at $488/mt, FOB conditions, in a single acquisition from Turkey.

A distributor in Rio de Janeiro remains selling rebar in very small volumes in the domestic market at BRL 4,576/mt ($1,111/mt), full taxes and delivered to customer, referring to the QC/HRB400 grade. That price, with reference to the CA-50 grade and 10mm diameter, can receive substantial discounts in case of large volumes or direct sales by the steel producers.
