Over the past week, buyers in the local Turkish wire rod market have continued to adopt a cautious stance and to make bookings only to meet their immediate needs, due to the high volatility of the US dollar-Turkish lira exchange rate and since Chinese wire rod suppliers’ export quotations have decreased to $520-530/mt FOB. However, Turkish wire rod produces have been unwilling to decrease their prices since import scrap prices have remained strong and prices in the local Turkish wire rod market have remained unchanged week on week.
