Prices in local Turkish rebar market start the current week with sharp decline

Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish rebar market has remained weak, while Turkish producers have decreased their prices by TRY 76-94/mt as compared to the report published by SteelOrbis on October 11. Although Turkish lira has started to gain strength against the US dollar beginning from last Friday, following its rapid depreciation during the past few months; buyers in the local Turkish rebar market have continued to adopt a wait-and-see stance since the economic situation in Turkey has not recovered yet.

Meanwhile, Turkish producer Icdas has decreased its prices by TRY 140/mt for 12-32 mm rebar  in Turkey's Marmara and Biga, Canakkale regions, which are now at TRY 3,014/mt ($516/mt) + VAT ex-works and at TRY 2,980/mt ($510/mt) + VAT ex-works, respectively.
