Turkish mills’ domestic merchant bar offers have moved up by TRY 30/mt over the past week to TRY 3,080-3,290/mt ($507-546/mt) ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. This rise in domestic merchant bar prices is a result of expectations of higher scrap quotations, the positive mood observed after the US cut duties on steel imports from Turkey, and the slight increase recorded in domestic billet prices in Turkey.
