Brazilian producers are negotiating rebar for export to South American countries at $540/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, a reference price stable over the last three weeks, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

In August, Brazil exported 35,300 mt of rebar, against 38,900 mt in July. Gerdau exported 20,600 mt, in average at $479/mt, while ArcelorMittal exported 14,700 mt at $590/mt, both FOB conditions, different quality grades and price deals probably closed in June.

South American countries were the main destination, with 26,500 mt at $546/mt, while 8,600 mt at $462/mt was shipped to Jamaica, and 200 mt at $481/mt was shipped to Switzerland, all FOB conditions.
