Brazilian producers are negotiating rebar for export to South American countries at $540/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, the same reference of last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.
The source mentioned a potential downward trend for the prices in the coming weeks, but not to a large extent, as prices are under pressure by production costs, chiefly energy.
In May, Brazil exported 49,800 mt of rebar, against 37,300 mt in April. The shipments were all destined to South American countries, in average at $528/mt, FOB conditions, different quality grades and price deals probably closed in March.
