Brazilian producers are negotiating rebar for export in a range of $570/mt to $590/mt, FOB conditions, for the CA-50 grade, the same reference as last week according to sources.

However, exports are still currently considered a marginal priority for producers, as the focus remains with the more profitable domestic market.

In July, Gerdau exported 18,800 mt of rebar, in average at $561/mt, while ArcelorMittal exported 17,700 mt at $583/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May. As some clients can include companies associated with the steel producers, the prices are not necessarily linked to market conditions.
