Price range stable for Brazilian rebar exports

Brazilian producers remain negotiating rebar for export in a range of $580/mt to $600/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, the same range as last week, a local source told SteelOrbis.

In July, Gerdau exported 18,800 mt of rebar, in average at $561/mt, while ArcelorMittal exported 17,700 mt at $583/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May.

With the exception of 6,600 mt exported by Gerdau to Jamaica, July volumes were shipped to South American countries including Bolivia (13,100 mt), Colombia (7,700 mt) and Peru (5,900 mt). As some South American clients include companies associated with the steel producers, the prices are not necessarily linked to market conditions.
