Price range expands for Brazilian rebar exports

Brazilian producers are now negotiating rebar for export to South American countries in a price range of $550/mt to $570/mt, against a range of $560/mt to $570/mt two weeks ago, all FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade.

The Brazilian producers of long products are currently experiencing difficulties with competitiveness and access to markets outside of South America, due to the high energy tariff producers pay to operate their electric arc furnaces (EAF). As such, Brazilian rebar mills remain focused in the more logistically-favored markets of South America.
