Brazilian producers are now negotiating rebar for export to South American countries in a price range of $560/mt to $570/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade. The range compares with $570/mt to $580/mt FOB last week, a local market source mentioned to SteelOrbis.
In December, Gerdau exported 23,800 mt of rebar, in average at $550/mt, while ArcelorMittal exported 15,300 mt at $606/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in October. All the volume of rebars exported from Brazil in December was destined to South American countries.
