The reference price range for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers to South American countries is $555/mt to $565/mt, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, the same range as last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.
In October, Brazil exported 34,700 mt of rebar, against 32,900 mt in September. ArcelorMittal exported 26,000 mt while Gerdau exported 8,700 mt, all destined to South American countries.
The main destinations were Bolivia (19,900 mt at $598/mt), Colombia (8,000 mt at $481/mt) and Peru (5,800 mt at $531/mt), all FOB conditions, with different quality grades and price deals probably closed in August. Small volumes were shipped to Paraguay.
