The reference price range for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers to South American countries is $560/mt to $570/mt, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, the same range as last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

Reduced demand from South American countries and from a lackluster domestic housing sector remain negatively affecting prices. Prices in FOB terms are expected to decline over the next weeks, the source said.

In September, Brazil exported 19,800 mt of rebar to Bolivia at $610/mt, 11,200 mt to Peru at $526/mt, 1,700 mt to Paraguay at $608/mt, and 100 mt to Colombia at $580/mt, all FOB conditions, different quality grades and price deals probably closed in July.
