The reference price for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers is now $470/mt, against $490/mt last week, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade. Sources tell SteelOrbis that few such deals were recently closed, due to the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak.

In March, Brazil exported 35,600 mt of rebar, comparable with 28,000 mt in February. ArcelorMittal exported 22,100 mt at $543/mt, while Gerdau exported 13,500 mt at $473/mt, both FOB conditions, different quality grades and price deals probably closed in January.

The destinations were Peru (14,800 mt at $491/mt), Bolivia (13,400 mt at $549/mt), Chile (6,000 mt at $485/mt) and Paraguay (1,400 mt at $603/mt).
