The reference price for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers is $830/mt, stable from two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In July, Brazil exported 18,500 mt of rebar, in average at $859/mt, while importing 500 mt of the product from Turkey at $830/mt, FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,600/mt ($1,113/mt), stable in BRL from two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
Sources mentioned that current rebar prices in the Brazilian domestic market exceed by more than 10 percent the price of the imported product after clearing customs.
