Offers increase for Brazilian rebar exports to South American countries

The reference price for the export of rebars by Brazilian producers is $860/mt, against $830/mt three weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.

In August, Brazil exported 34,000 mt and imported 28,400 mt of rebars, against respectively 18,500 mt and 500 mt in July.

The exports were all destined to South American countries, of which 27,400 mt at $765/mt by ArcelorMittal and 6,600 mt at $946/mt by Gerdau, both FOB conditions.

The imports were all from Turkey, in average at $814/mt, also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,900/mt ($1,139/mt), against BRL 5,600/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
