The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is $950/mt, against $1,100/mt three weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In May, Brazil exported 40,100 mt and imported 8,800 mt of rebar, against respectively 59,700 and 5,200 mt in April.
The exports in May were all destined to South American countries, in average at $809/mt, while the imports were all from Turkey, at $792/mt, both FOB conditions. The exporters in May were Gerdau (23,200 mt at $753/mt) and ArcelorMittal (16,900 mt at $886/mt).
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 6,000/mt ($1,145/mt), against BRL 6,400/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
