In letters to customers this week, Nucor-Yamato and Steel Dynamics both announced an adjustment to published wide flange beam prices, dropping them by “as much as” $3.00 cwt. ($60/nt or $66/mt) effective with new orders on September 20.

Nucor’s letter stated that the move is intended to “better align our published price list with market transaction pricing which has been impacted by imports and the subsequent unpublished discounts by our domestic competitors.”

SDI’s letter also cited domestic producers for the reason behind the decrease.
