Nucor raises prices for wire rod and wire mesh products

In a letter to customers today, Nucor announced it will increase transaction prices for all wire mesh products by $3.00 cwt. ($60/nt or $66/mt), effective with shipments as of Jan. 2, 2018.

Additionally, Nucor sent a separate letter to customers late Tuesday, announcing an increase in all wire rod transaction prices. Low carbon wire rod (grades 1026 and lower) will increase by $2.25 cwt. ($45/nt or $50/mt), while high carbon wire rod (grades 1030 and higher) will increase by $3.00 cwt. ($60/nt or $66/mt).

Prior to the increase, US domestic low carbon wire rod spot prices were in the range of $31.00-$31.50 cwt. ($620-$630/nt or $683-$694/mt) ex-mill.
