Nucor lifts wire rod prices for June

Nucor sent a letter to customers late Tuesday indicated that the company will increase prices on wire rod products effective with shipments as of June 1.

Prices for low carbon wire rod of grades 1026 and lower will increase by $20/nt ($1.00 cwt. or $22/mt). Prices for high carbon wire rod of grades 1030 and higher will increase by $30/nt ($1.50 cwt. or $33/mt).

Other US domestic wire rod mills are expected to follow suit.
