Nucor joins CMC, SDI in rebar price increase

Nucor sent a letter to customers indicating that effective with all new orders as of Jan. 6, 2020, rebar prices will increase by $1.50 cwt. ($30/nt or $33/mt).

The announcement matches price increases announced by Commercial Metals Company and Steel Dynamics, Inc. in December.

Before Nucor’s announcement, US domestic rebar spot prices were trending at $31.00-$31.50 cwt. ($620-$630/nt or $683-$694/mt) ex-mill in the Midwest, and $32.00 cwt. ($640/nt or $705/mt) ex-mill on the East coast.
