Domestic merchant bar prices in Turkey have followed diverse trends. They have decreased by TRY 22.5/mt over the past two weeks in the Izmir and Denizli regions, mainly due to the fluctuation of the Turkish lira against foreign currencies, while they have increased in the Iskenderun and Karabuk regions due to the positive sentiment in the scrap segment and stronger local and import billet prices. Most buyers have adopted a wait-and-see stance as they want to gain a clearer picture of whether prices will increase further or not.
