Mexican wire rod prices jumped a substantial US$60/mt during the last two weeks to settle at US$779/mt ex-mill.
This boost in prices is largely attributed to the announcement of the "Guerrero Plan"-- President Enrique Peña Nieto's proposal for the reconstruction of houses, buildings, roads and infrastructure damaged by hurricanes Manuel and Ingrid.
With it, the country will promote the comprehensive development of Guerrero through three main areas: investing in infrastructure, social projects to promote productivity as well as financing, and coordination of public policies.
